Featured Recipe: Sticky chocolate Brownie

  • 150g plain chocolate
  • 175g butter
  • 200g soft brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 250ml Sam Smiths Chocolate Stout
  • 75g plain flour
  • 50g cocoa powder


  1. Preheat oven to gas mark 4/180
  2. Melt chocolate and butter, in a bowl, over a pan of simmering water
  3. Once melted remove from heat and beat the sugar in. leave to cool for a while
  4. Beat in eggs, until mixture smooth and glossy, then carefully stir in the Chocolate Stout.
  5. Fold in sieved flour and cocoa powder. Pour into a lined 22inch shallow baking tin and place in oven for 30-35 minutes. When cooked brownie should have small cracks on the surface and when tested should still be sticky.
  6. Leave to cool in the tin, when cool cut into squares
