Did you know you can get all your BBQ treats and great quality produce, locally sourced and at a low price during your lunchbreak and in the city centre? Everything is incredibly fresh every day and the traders here supply many local restaurants.

Pre-marinated meats and fish are available if you’re in a hurry, or if you want to do it yourself then take advantage of the trader’s expertise with a pre-mixed marinade. Hot and fresh Piri-piri, herby Italian or the classic garlic butter are all pre-mixed and just need adding to your chicken or fish dish.

Smith and Tissington fishmongers have an amazing selection of BBQ favourites such as salmon, seabass and prawns. If you’re feeling adventurous, they’ve got a seasonal selection from around the world, from Strawberry Grouper from the Indian Ocean to Himachi from the Pacific. The friendly staff will clean and fillet your fish as well as give you the lowdown on how to cook it.

Here at the Moor Market you’re spoilt for choice for fresh meat. There are seven butchers’ stalls to choose from so you’ll never be without sausages or steak. Waterall Brothers specialise in pork products and prepare everything themselves from their kitchen in Neepsend. They’ll be able to sort you out with a rack of ribs or a juicy pork chop as well as six flavours of pork pies - great for a BBQ or a post-work picnic!

Fresh, locally grown produce is available every Monday through Saturday at good prices. For sides and sundries, Green Leaves have over 10 kinds of marinated olives, stuffed with garlic, almonds or chilli, as well as cheeses and vegetables. We can recommend the Moroccan salted black olives!

You’ll need something to wash it all down with and Beer Central has you covered. They’ll always have a stock of local favourites from Kelham Island and Bradfield Brewery as well as a forever changing stock of craft beers. Six floor-to-ceiling shelves are full of the best beer the UK has to offer, with a further two for international beers. The stock changes so quickly as Sean, who runs the shop, is always hunting out the newest beers on offer. He’ll reserve a set for you to pick up, or send them out through the country – his customers range from Devon to Aberdeen!

S&J’s pantry stocks Yorkshire-made goods, such as Langley Farm dairy products including their full range of flavoured yoghurts. They’ve got Birdcage Tea and Khoo’s Chilli sauce made from Sheffield-grown chilli. And for afters, there’s nothing better than fresh seasonal strawberries, grown locally in Lincolnshire.

If you’re in the city centre, pop in for your lunch break and get everything you need. Almost all traders take card and there’s a free cash withdrawal machine on site. Visit the webpage to find out more about the Moor Market. http://bit.ly/SheffMoorMarket
