The Bishop of Sheffield the Rt. Rev’d Dr Pete Wilcox will visit the Moor Market on Friday 18 May at 3.30pm as part of a prayer walk he is undertaking in across the South Yorkshire. Fr Naylor, parish priest of St Matthew’s Church, Carver Street commented: “We are delighted that Bishop Pete is visiting the parish as part of his prayer walk and we are particularly pleased that he is coming to the market. Over recent years we have built a close relationship with the Moor Market including having services there at Christmas and Easter. In my humble opinion, the Market is the best place to do your shopping in Sheffield. It’s got fabulous produce and it’s full of wonderful characters!” The Bishop’s prayer walk is part of a response to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s call to all Christians to enter into deeper prayer this week in the run up to the Christian festival of Pentecost (Whitsun) this Sunday.
